Rayo Vallecano ended their season last week with a 2-1 win over Sevilla Atletico. They have failed to find the same success, however, in the negotiating room as not one player who is out of contract with the team this summer has signed on the dotted line for another year in Vallecas. Manager, Michel, told Union Rayo that he was already planning for next season and that the club are working on the contract side of things.
Several players out of contract
Many clubs have already started to announce signings and transfers and this is of particular worry for rayistas. Michel also confessed that there are several players who are out of contract who he would like to see continue at the club.
One player in particular is Manucho. The striker is enjoying life at Rayo and wants to continue but there is still no agreement between the two sides. The 34-year-old has a good offer from Isreal and another from Iran with reported interest from Mexico also.
Raul Baena is another player that Michel wants to continue and Michel says, “I spoke with Raúl and told him that I would like him to continue. I would love to continue. But I do not know where things stand at the moment. These are matters for representatives of the club. It’s the same with Manucho.”
A player that the fans are keen to see return is Pablo Claveria. The Rayo youth team player has an offer on the table from Rayo and Michel says, “the idea would be that he signs with us and then we look for a loan club”.
Also, this week, Maite Martin of Diario AS reported that the club want to renew two other players in centre-half Jose Antonio Dorado and attacking midfielder Patrick Ebert. That said, the renewal of Ebert seems almost impossible.
